Oklahoma and Texas got into a brawl before their game today. The refs issued a warning that if anybody gets into a fight again, they are out of the game. It got me thinking. from time to time you see two players get into it and the refs don't know who started it so they call a foul on both and the penalties offset. What if each coach got the option of calling for enforcement of a 15 yard penalty after a play of their choice? They could each negate a score or a big first down, (or the failure of their team to get one)by asking for the penalty to be enforced at that point. they might keep the penalty in their back pocket and save it for the end of the game. that might have more teeth to it than offsetting penalties.
(Hey, when you're a blockhead you've got think outside the box!)
