The shot clock was going to run out anyway. Why is Joe launching a pivot fadeaway with 8 seconds left?
Final score 72-82.
It seemed odd to me, b/c he seemed to start a drive to the hoop only about 10-15 seconds after we gained possession, but perhaps I was looking at the wrong clock (game not shot). Might make sense, as I am multi-tasking and not as smart as the average poster here.If he did that with the shot clock off, it would be classless. With the shot clock still on, I think it's perfectly fair game.
The clock was going to expire at 7 seconds. It would have been a turnover had he held onto the ball. We took possession with 37 seconds left.It seemed odd to me, b/c he seemed to start a drive to the hoop only about 10-15 seconds after we gained possession, but perhaps I was looking at the wrong clock (game not shot). I don't think its classless, but do think a shot there is pointless. One team in the 60s while another is in the 80s has a nicer ring to it than one being in the 70s and the other in the 80s.
Yeah, I just rewatched that piece. I was looking at the wrong clock. The clock was going to expire at 7 seconds. It would have been a turnover had he held onto the ball. We took possession with 37 seconds left.
