I have been in the construction industry for 25 years, somehow people like to believe that our business is as safe as ever and it is in many ways, but you know what no matter how you defend against it people still get hurt.  It happens no matter what you do.  Somehow, people on the outside will never understand that, it's a dangerous business.  There are zero guarantees despite what owners, docs, safety professionals, insurance people or attorneys will tell you.
