MAAC tournament: As posted conference regular season champ Iona lost today to Fairfield. In the second semi, Loyola beat Siena. Let's hope Loyola beats Fairfield tomorrow night just for the only reason that it would be great to watch Jimmy Patsos coach against us. if you have never seen him, he is one of those egostical maniacs that is very demonstrative who sweats through all of his articles of clothing. Just a pleasure to watch on the opposing sidelines.

American East Tournament: Stony Brook, the regular season champ just beat UAlbany on a put back with .5 seconds left. They will host the winner of Vermont vs Hartford in the championship game. Obviously we would want to put the hurting on Vermont again. So let's root for them to beat beat Hartford and then go beat Stony Brook, a team they split with during the regular season.

Maurice Joseph is no longer with Vermont but one of their assistant coaches is Keith Ceplicki, a name that should be familiar to Cuse fans for a couple reasons, one that he was a sub on the team that beat us and two his dad coached women's hoops at the Cuse for three seasons. If we beat Vermont every year in the NCAA's, it still wouldn't be enough, but it would still feel pretty good.

Here are my top 7 teams and we will be probably playing one of them: (in no order)

Savannah State
Stonybrook
UNC Ashville
Mississippi Valley State (or the SWAC Champ)
LIU Brooklyn
UT Arlington

I think Stonybrook and Savannah State are locked into a play in game. So is Mississippi Valley State. The other one may be UT Arlington.

I am glad to see Wagner lose because they would have been an interesting matchup against a 1 seed.

I do have team breakdowns on all of these teams and will post one next Sunday when the brackets are announced.

Don't you mean bottom seven teams, not top? I would guess there is a good chance that we play someone from the east or northeast. I remember reading that they try and place them close to home as possible. That should rule out Savannah, Mississippi and UT Arlington. Also, since I am too lazy to look this up, do the play in game winners only play on Friday or can they play Thursday as well. I know I posted a link from an interview from Hathaway that addressed it but I forgot exactly what it said. Only something that they try to give the play in game winners as much rest as possibly so they won't play at noon on Thursday. Not sure if that means they won't play at 2:30 on Thursday or at night.

Speaking of which, I really hope we are not the 2nd game in the night session in Pittsburgh. I will take any of the other three time slots.

I still think Mississippi Valley State has a shot at a #1 seed...;)

I really dont want the first game Thursday or the last. I would like that 2:30-2:45 tipoff Thursday to be honest with you. Sitting in the Buffalo arena 2 years ago waiting for the Vermont tipoff (which was like 10:20) knowing I then had to drive home after was brutal.

This is just a meaningless nitpick, but the UVM assistant is Kyle Cieplicki. Keith was his dad and former SU coach.

If these 2 team are still in it then we will play either LIU Brooklyn or Stonybrook IMO.

This is just a meaningless nitpick, but Keith was his uncle, not his dad.

Loyola, Md finished 2nd in the MAAC and has 24 wins, I think they are a #14 or #15 seed.

just realized weed is grown from SEEDS...so we must be in the FF for home growing the most
