No one is quite clear what the committee will do with these types of teams. They have been friendly on a few occasions but they usually hammer them,

And that is what is reflected in the Matrix right now. In terms of the 48 last brackets that are in, that are updated for yesterday.

Syracuse - 39 of 48
Wichita St - 35 of 48
Monmouth - 16 of 48
Gonzaga - 12 of 48
Valpariaso - 5 of 48

Gonzaga will be static after tonight. But there are not that many people out there that think 2 bids were stolen last night from any bubble team.

Unfortunately the matrix has not been updated since last night, so we are unable to see how St. Mary's is doing as an-large in people's minds.

But there are now 78 brackets updates since Monmouth and Valpo won.

Pitt - 72 of 78 (92%)
Syracuse - 61 of 78 (78%)
Wichita St - 60 of 78 - (up to 77% from 73%)
Monmouth - 26 of 78 (still 33%)
Valparaiso - 10 of 78 (up to 13% from 10%)
St. Mary's - not yet available

It will be interesting to see how Pitt stacks up against these teams after they lose today.

I may track these teams over the next week just to how opinions sway on them (if at all). They are all obviously the teams that are gaining the most chatter. I don't know what the right call on these teams is to be honest -- will wait until Saturday until I pick the bubble.

So the bracket has been updated today for St. Mary's loss.

Based on 33 brackets that are in today (BEFORE OUR LOSS)

Wichita St - 26 of 33 (79%)
Syracuse - 26 of 33 (79%)
VCU - 26 of 33
UConn - 22 of 33
St. Mary's - 18 of 33 (55%)

--------------------------------------

Monmouth - 11 of 33 (33%)
Florida - 4 of 33
Valparaiso - 0 of 33
Temple

Remember that sites like Lunardi have Temple as an auto bid when they are no even an at-large yet because they won the AAC regular season.

So it seem's that St. Mary's has knocked Valpo out of the discussion. We are still the same % today as yesterday. (BEFORE THE LOSS)

Does our loss to Pitt on a neutral floor by one point, mean that St. Mary's and Monmouth would pass us?

jn, can you simply list 3 or 4 names that we need to cheer against over next couple days? thanks.

I would be absolutely shocked if we get in, but if we do, it would be the ultimate case
of backing in. We've lost 5 of our last 6. We deserve to be on the outside looking in. I don't even have the energy to root for other teams or follow the bubble stuff.

I do appreciate all your info and work, jncuse. You've done a great job the past few weeks.

We can't control the biggest factor anymore (St. Mary's / Monmouth

#1 Cheer for Cincy starting tomorrow. The AAC is all over the bubble. They can theoretically knock out UConn, Tulsa, Temple in 3 straight games. That would likely ensure the AAC stays a 2 bid league (or even a 1 bid league).
#2 Oregon St losing to Arizona St tonight- This would be a bad loss for Oregon St tonight and while the matrix has them ahead of us, I am not so fond of them. In reality, such a loss could put them behind us.
#3 Hope that one of VCU and St. Bonnie have a bad loss tomorrow
#4 Michigan or Ohio St not winning its first 2 games in the B10 -
The second games would be Indiana and Ohio St respectively
#5 Miami to stop the FSU/Virginia Tech winner tomorrow

I will following it here because I have a passion for the bubble, SU or not -- of course our involvement really heightened it this year. What has happened to Syracuse though is a real bummer, even if we have a slight chance.

Passion for the bubble - I never thought I would read that phrase. I really do appreciate all your posts. they've been fantastic.

Can we root for the Bonnies to win the A10 Tourney? That would give us an extra Top 25 win that could be the difference if it actually comes to that.

And the only cure is MORE COWBELL!

I need to have new winter interests. Trying to pass time until golfing season.

More like misery, being on the bubble is an awful feeling.

I would certainly prefer we are not on the bubble. But I do enjoy following the bubble every year
