US wins gold at junior ice hockey worlds

This is a story I meant to link when it happened. I was reminded of it by this email from a Canadian friend.

Canadians are very aware of the difficult times in the States.
We know that there is not too much to cheer about.
We only hear and see the worst of events.

But there is hope.

Here in Canada we love our hockey and we like to win.
We were taught a valuable lesson this past Christmas season.
The strongest American junior team ever assembled for the World Junior Championships knocked off the elite, undefeated Canadian team in the semi-final.

They went on to win the gold medal by defeating Sweden in the final
Canadians were in shock...but happy for the winners.
We know how important it is for America to restore it's image.

The young men that represented your country were disciplined, respectful and very good.
They are the new generation and I believe this will help turn things around.
