USC and UCLA to the Big Ten

I can next see the Pac 12 adding UNLV. Boise State would be an option but I think UNLV has far more potential. I live in San Diego and their new stadium can be expanded to 50,000 seat. Since the chargers move to LA there is no other football in San Diego.

They have lost Los Angeles but adding San Diego and Las Vegas would be a good response. I think they are already playing some P12 championships in Vegas……

If this comes to fruition the Pac 12 would have media markets in Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, SLC, Denver, Phoenix.

LA is a huge loss but the Pac 12 would have almost the entire western region.

I would love to see a scheduling agreement (home/away games) with the ACC and having a unified championship game in Las Vegas.

Wonder who is more valuable from Fresno State, Boise State, and UNLV. Boise State has a good program now but how sustainable is it given their location? UNLV seems to make the most sense.

I think the B12 dropped the ball not adding San Diego State and UNLV when Texas left. They probably could have poached the P12 if they had.

Edit

The P12 could actually add all 4, which would kill off the MWC. Not sure the TV networks would approve though.

I would absolutely love a home/home with UNLV.

It is interesting that after SU and Pitt went to the ACC there were 6 Big East teams remaining, who then formed the AAC. Of those 6 only 2 will remain in the AAC, 3 of those 6 having left for a P5 invite. Those 6 schools also invited 4 CUSA schools to join them, and 2 of those will be going to the P5. So of the ten 1st year AAC teams, only 4 will remain in 2023, the conference's 11th season.

It is crazy that between 2004 and 2024 there have been 31 different schools that have been part of CUSA.

Edit

That is 23% of FBS schools in the 21 seasons from 2004-2024 at one point or another were part of CUSA.

Interesting data. At least we’re on a list.

Seems like an arbitrary rating. They are assigning values that can vary person to person. And then they are assigning weights on what they think is important and not necessarily what the B1G finds important.

Best takeaway:

Remember, all of these candidates rate higher than Rutgers.
