As said on our board, I think all these megaconference moves and shape shifting are a total waste of time because we're moving toward a model in which the biggest boys will create a structure in which their football and basketball players don't have to go to class and a goodly number of schools will continue to require theirs to go to class, so they will refuse to play the ones that don't.  All those structures of pods, the 64 teams (which ones?), relegation, etc., then go right down the tubes.  Because there currently is overtime in the regular season, somebody has to lose.  What's going to be the sentiments within the biggest boys' fanbases when they don't have the semi-guaranteed wins built into their schedules anymore?  They're killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Where will UVa end up?  I haven't the slightest idea.  At one time we supposedly were a package deal with UNC.  I don't know if that ever was or still is true.  I just hope that whenever the dust settles, we're one of the schools that does require all its players to go to class and refuses to play anyone who doesn't.  If that puts us at some sort of level just above the Ivies, so be it.
