USC defensive end Devon Kennard suffered a torn chest muscle that will require surgery and could force him to sit out the season, according to reports.

Kennard, a senior from Arizona, was scheduled to start opposite senior Wes Horton. If Kennard is sidelined, it would leave the Trojans even thinner on a defensive line that lacks depth and experience.

ESPNLosAngeles.com, citing an unnamed source close to Kennard, first
reported Kennard's situation

Thursday night. Kennard suffered the injury lifting weights, the report said.

Really, Really hope Pugh can be ready. Come on Football Gods! Pray everyone! Pray!

Yes, I have been living under a rock. Can someone refresh my memory - what happened to Pugh and why is his return under question?

I'm hearing Pugh may possibly miss a couple games. Apparently he's doing well though. Hopefully he'll have a speedier recovery than speculated in these next 4 weeks.

It is possible he will miss 3 or 4. If he can't go NW I doubt they will push him to be ready for USC. They wont need him for Stony Brook. So my guess is game 1 or 4 with game 4 being the most likely.

Wasn't Pugh hurt back before spring ball? If he has an injury that takes longer than 6+ months, that's not a good sign. Torn knee ligament? Injured achilles? Can't think of what else takes 6+ months to rehab.

Let's hope the restorative powers of the lobster will get him ready for the Wildcats.

If not, he should try a banana pudding milkshake from Chick-fil-A.

if im a DE at ped st, id be expecting a phone call......

Not sure.
Shoulder--and I agree with bees, from what I've heard from those familiar with it game 4 is much more likely for a return. In the meantime pugh, hickey, Curtis and knapp have been taking reps at left tackle the last few weeks ( Pugh, of course is limited right now with what he can do).

We need all the help we can get to beat USC (Kennard)... Highly doubt Pugh will be ready to go for that game. I'd rather him back for 8 healthier games than him be rushed into playing earlier into a game that we would need Barkley to break a leg to have a shot at. The staff will be smart with this.
