UVA - VT game postponed

I mentioned this a few weeks back but the differences at some schools is shocking. Cuse/Uva/BC/Pitt etc are fine. Yet at this point in the game Va Tech has an outbreak!? Some schools still not doing enough for their student-athletes while cashing that check.

Is it the school or the player not following the protocols. I believe i read where Memphis was suspending football activities because of covid related to players social activities.

What flexibility? There are only two bye weeks and you need to move other games around to get UVA to have an opening. I think they should be playing but 11 games was too aggressive.

It's kids being kids, and under the circumstances, immature and selfish.
My son's school, small JUCO in Iowa, but with soccer players from all over the world, just had the coach kick 8 kids off the team, and off campus, for going out. These are guys who will be D-1 or going pro back home next year. Some went out for drinks, some went out with volleyball girls.

Those dang volleyball girls. Trouble I say

Logistics-wise, dont we have one more bye week than the SEC? They start two Saturdays from now with a 10 game schedule.

Obviously if outbreaks keep happening, eventually you can’t keep up, but I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to reschedule. This happens to coastal Southeastern teams every once in a while when hurricanes come through.

Have you ever noticed how bad luck follows the Hokies whenever discipline, personal accountability, and character is involved?

A bunch of folks on our board are now advocating moving up the FSU game because they're idle on 9/19. As much as I was starting to think that football would get to November, I really have more and more difficulty in seeing how it makes it to the Oct 17 weekend.

This whole season is just a “gut it out” to get to the CFP.

As long as the major SEC teams and Clemson stay ok, I think College Football pushes through.

"College Football". Such as it is. It's becoming clearer that this emperor has no clothes.

The entire season could stop at any time, not just for us but for everyone. Combined with the predictions of a bad Flu season, and we’re looking at a very murky scenario.
Best to take it one week at a time, & hope...

What is your point? If the team & school has a policy that you must abide by, then he has every right to kick those players off the team.

These are unprecedented times and, whether you believe the threat is real, fake, or somewhere in between, rules are rules. "Kids being kids" is not an acceptable excuse.

I have a couple of nieces at VPI. I was amazed they didn't have to get tested for covid before returning to campus. I don't think it's a coincidence that most of the schools with outbreaks didn't require students to have a negative test before coming back.
