And Monmouth got three votes. Didn't we beat them. I hope we play them again. And Vermont. We can't beat their Green Mountain asses enough times. Sorrentine, Copperath and especially Mopa-Gilla (or something like that). I hated that guy. No offense to all our illustrious Vermonsters.

Well, come on. Vermont's best win is over #91 Yale. Can't get much better than that.

I never understood complaining about not receiving a few votes.

Do I think we deserve to be in the top 25? No. So why should I expect a voter to make a bad choice and put is in their top 25?

But they are going for win #20 tonight I believe. And undefeated in their league.

But they did get rolled by Providence.

raw

Cuse at 15 and 9 with losses to uconn ,Georgetown, St. Johns by 33 and Boston College by 15. Also team wasn't competitive with South Carolina or Wisconsin (not embarrasing) but our team has work to do before thinking they are close to the top 25. Our road / neutral record is really bad 1 -8 I think but it's in their hands. 4 more road games and acc tournament. Go cuse

Today we are most definitely a top 25 program.

You just reminded me of something else. UVM and SU both played South Carolina. The scores of the games were remarkably similar, with both of us scoring only 50 points in the defeats.

Those fricken maple syrup makers make me so mad. We should have got at least one vote!

It's utterly stupid and irrational, especially since I'm a UVM grad and a mere Syracuse townie, but I still bear heavy resentment toward my alma mater after the God-awful game that Coppenrath & Co. used to end Hak's career in Orange. Back to back with the TAMU debacle, no less, especially since I live here in Texas. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Warrick's in my top five of all-time favorite players at SU. We already got some measure of revenge against Vermont in that follow-up game with Joseph v. Joseph, but I'd still love to get another chance to throttle the Catamounts. Someday, with therapy, maybe I'll get over it.

Like my post says not embarrasing losing to South Carolina or Wisconsin. With those losses and lack of winning away from home I totally see cuse not getting any votes. Plenty of opportunities left though. Hopefully they can keep the streak going tonight.

question for the CPA's .historically how many unranked teams in february get at large bids in march ?
and damn copperpott.

Get into the tournament and rankings don't mean a thing anymore.

If one positive comes from 2005 is that JB learned to speed the game up against a slow team and applied that lesson vs. UVA last year.

The TAMU game was understandable, we were a blah team that made a great BET run and then the kid who carried us couldn't even walk against TAMU. Vermont was brutal. I knew we were in trouble when a couple of our players were complaining about the crappy wood floor in Springfield. it's what makes the tourney great for some, and hell on earth for others!

That game in Worcester was the worst Syracuse loss I ever attended. It was so shocking we lost. Driving home on the Mass pike after the game and stopping for gas at the rest area there were a lot of fans dressed in Orange that looked like all the blood was drained from their faces. Everyone was speechless. To this day I just shake my head.

For the life of me we never should have lost to those farm boys. I don't care if they shot 100% from three (which they didn't, they only shot 33%). We can beat them 100 more times, but nothing will erase the memories from that day.

Looking at this, it was by far (and people can argue) our worst unexpected loss ever. Even though Vermont had a solid, experienced team, we should have ran them off the floor. Here was our eight:

Hak, GMac, Josh Pace, Forth, TRob, DNich, LMac, Mookie Watkins.

That's a who's who of great Syracuse performers.

I was at Foxwoods Casino on selection 2005 and when I saw that pairing I said "oh " loud enough that I got some weird looks from the video poker slot players at the bar. IMO SU was slightly under seeded and VT was way under seeded. Throw in the home court edge and I was very nervous about that game before it started.
