This happens about every five years in our area so obviously it won't be handled well. The fact the snow is alternating with sleet is just compounding the problem. They should just reschedule this game entirely.

Charlottesville also has very hilly and curvy roads everywhere. It is a GREAT town and area but having spent a few weeks there each of the past few summers I could see this factor being an issue as well. Not a bad place to be stranded. Some great restaurants, bars, etc.

The last I heard Virginia isn't going to get hit as bad as they originally thought and NYC was going to get more than anticipated.

I've since relocated to just outside DC. So far we have gotten 7.5-8" and no signs of slowing down. If we get what they say ill be shocked, to simply hasn't come down fast enough to keep up that snowfall for 30 hours or so IMO.

But even if only get 10-12" it will be enough to shut this place down through Monday and perhaps Tuesday as well.

Do we give Wednesday a name though? Sorry, but giving these winter storms a name is nothing less than artificial inflation. It makes it seem worst than it probably is. Get's eyes and ears on the tv. I refuse to use names for snow storms. Just plain stupid.

Its not so much that the roads are hilly and curvy, as it is that 30% of the drivers will be doing 5mph, and the other 70% will be saying "What is this increased stopping distance I keep hearing people talk about??"
