I know they are allowed to play in the East despite the fact that the regional is in Philly at the Wells Fargo arena because they only played three games there this season. But if they were a 2 seed would that still be allowed? Also is the seed protection concept still in place?

Yes.
Nova is eligible for Philly. They will be in Brooklyn and could be in Philly if they are a 2 seed. If they are a 1 seed I don't see them ahead of UNC winning the regular and postseason ACC titles with good non conferences as well.

How crazy would that be if they are a 2 seed and play the 1 seed in Philly? Ah the NCAA - a.k.a. Notoriously Corrupt Athletic Association.

Kind of a joke that they could end up playing a supposedly neutral site game in a building in which they regularly host home games, including conference games, and that is only 20 miles from their campus.

dont think nova ends in philly region.

Kansas,Xavier-midwest
Michigan State/UNC- in either order-East
Virginia,Nova-South
Oregon,Oklahoma-West

Another way that the system can be gamed.

Is that any different from UNC/Duke playing neutral site games in Greensboro or Charlotte?

Yeah that stinks too. But it would be even worse if you played a higher seed on your home court. What the hell is this - the women's tournament?

Yes. Very different.

Chapel Hill and Durham are each 50+ miles from Greensboro and 120+miles from Charlotte.

I am not aware of either Duke or UNC having moved regular season home games each year for the last 10+ years from their home on-campus facilities to those locations like Nova has done at the Wells Fargo Center.

You mean like a certain 3 seed playing the 1 seed in Albany?

Certainly didn't mind it at the time but that sheet should never happen. hated it when we had to play MSU in Detroit.

I was at that MSU game. Sucked.

But they were the one seed so I didn't have a problem with it.

I think the NCAA may have been overly counting on Nova winning their final game and maybe didnt want to do a lot of work after switching them out of a 1 seed?

MSU not getting the vacated 1 seed concerns me more, after Virginia's performance yesterday.
