Vintage Dodgers

This popped up on You-Tube: color home movies of "Camera Day" at Dodgers' home games from 1960-62. That's the last two years in the LA Coliseum and the first year in brand new Dodger Stadium. I like the fact that it has angles you don't normally see on TV or in old newsreels, especially showing the baseball lay out of the Coliseum.

I decided to try to identify the players through Baseball Reference.com:

2 is Don Demeter in 1960 and Leo Durocher in 1961. It's interesting that Walter Alston was able to deal with a guy like Durocher on his staff. Leo had been a major leaguer on the 1927 Yankees and the Gashouse Gang Cardinals and managed the Dodgers and then the Giants while Alston was a career minor leaguer who had worked his way up through the farm system as a manager. It's testimony to the confidence Alston had in himself and in the Dodgers that his job was safe.
