In essence, it seems like sometimes the refs changed the standard for what was actually a foul for Pitt since they were so physical on every play and they aren't going to call everything, only the worst violations. This strategy appeared to work well in the Big East regular season where a lot of teams played a physical bruising style. It hasn't translated as well to the ACC or the NCAAT. In the end, Pitt is more fun to watch under Stallings although the results so far haven't been as good. Bennett seems to like a slow / methodical style and has had some success against Syracuse (not in the last 2 games) but he has never left a bad taste in my mouth like Dixon / Howland.
