They are much better on offense than they were last season and a definite Final Four contender. I know the ACC is down this year, but we can still make the tourney and have a decent season if we improve and notch some wins against teams like Louisville, Duke, UNC and Ga Tech.

All that said, just making the tourney shouldn’t be the Cuse standard. There are issues with this program no doubt. And I think many of us are surprised that it’s persisted this long. You always expect periodic down/NIT seasons like we’ve always had under JB, at the worst two in a row. But since the 2016 Final Four (with a decent regular season that wound up worse b/c of JB’s suspension), we’ve had four straight seasons of middle-of-the-pack conference finishes  and only two tourney bids, including a solid 8 seed in 2019. So, yes, we have lots of work to do to get back to top 4-5 conference finishes and top 4 NCAA seeds, and I think many of us wonder if it can happen again under an aging JB. But hope burns eternal...
