Whenever a pick was attempted by anybody Virginia Tech just doubled the guy with the ball.
They had us scouted correctly. They knew we can’t handle ball pressure, they jumped every screen and basically killed the guy with the ball and then flooded the paint and basically said you will get one shot which will be tough and dare you to make it.
When teams aren’t stupid it’s not hard to defend us. Thank goodness most of the coaches aren’t smart.
Beyond this we can’t complain about the refs as to why we lost. They were atrocious in the first half but we weren’t winning this game due to the fact Virginia Tech was making shots.

Our high ball screens were at an all time level of failure and ineffectiveness last night.

Cringe worthy. Legit brought pain to watch.

Probably explains why last night was the game we decided not to play MD at the 5??...

I literally saw no defenders within 10 feet of Sidibe at times.

we have players who disappear for entire games still

Their defense dictated the game last night. They doubled in certain spots, they hedged hard...they were in our guys jocks all night.

Are you talking about the 6 seconds Sidibe was on the floor in the first half when the game was lost?

Despite all his quirks, and his being annoying, you can't deny that Buzz is a very good coach. That was a great hire by Virginia Tech.

Back door cuts were available all night. Failed to attempt them the whole game except for the one time with Mark.
