Has only gone against P4 schools twice and didn't do great. He's probably their safest/best option though.

You can see why he threw a lot of interceptions from that video. Even in his highlights, he throws wildly a lot, and into tight coverage. He could cost them more games than he wins for them this year. Didn't really look like a play maker nor a game manager from those highlights. Unlucky for Tennessee... Good thing they expect to have a great running game and a great defense.

I’m guessing we will name our starter today / tomorrow. It gives the winner time to work with the 1s exclusively over next two weeks. I don’t see Fran seeing a ton of value in hiding it.

I don't think it matters much to Tenn either. The QBs are not so vastly different that the offense will change. We had the QB runs in the offense last year even if we didn't use them. Every team using this style has them . I don't expect us to want to use them this year unless we just can't move the ball.

He had a pretty good season in '23. 2024 was not great for him. 23/14 (TD/INT) and only 56% completion rate (43% vs. Clemson).
Tennessee's run game should help him out, if they can fully replace Sampson's production.
So basically who knows what we will see.

It's a given Tenn will run, run, run unless we prove we can stop it. Perfect setup when breaking in a new QB. And nixon might be thinking the same thing.
