'Cuse would take the 2-1 advantage into the locker room, but not long after beginning the third period, LaCombe would give the Orange some breathing room when she scored on a feed from Grossi and Goodnough to put the game out of reach. The win snapped a two-game losing streak and allowed the Orange to open conference play with a valuable two points. Syracuse also moved to 9-0-0 all-time against Penn State with the win.
