[B]SYRACUSE, N.Y. – [/B]The Syracuse women's rowing team will kick off its fall season on Saturday when it heads to Boston, Mass. for the Head of the Charles. Syracuse will send three boats to the world's largest two-day regatta.
 
"The fall season provides a lot of opportunity," head coach [URL='http://cuse.com/coaches.aspx?rc=968'][U]Justin Moore[/U][/URL] stated. "We utilize small boats a ton in the fall and then move into the big boats in the spring. Small boats develop athletes better. They create higher accountability, which I think that is something the women point out within our training sessions."
 
Syracuse will send out two boats in the championship fours and one boat for the championship double. Last year, [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11498'][U]Holly Johnston[/U][/URL] and [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=10380'][U]Rebecca Soja[/U][/URL] placed fifth in the championship double and were the top collegiate finishers. Seniors [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11180'][U]Caroline Habjan[/U][/URL] and [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11502'][U]Amy Ludovici[/U][/URL] will attempt to defend Syracuse's title in the double.
 
The varsity "A" four boat will be coxed by senior [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11184'][U]Katherine Isaza[/U][/URL] and rowed by sophomore [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11175'][U]Emily Carey[/U][/URL] (stroke), junior [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11201'][U]Kari Tomeny[/U][/URL] (3), senior [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11494'][U]Georgia Hamilton[/U][/URL] (2), and junior [URL='http://cuse.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=11520'][U]Deirdre Fitzpatrick[/U][/URL] (bow).
