Waiting for First - Petrino Should Be SU OC Post

Well... I'll bite since you think I'm an idiot anyway.

Petrino has six more losses as a college coach than Marrone.

And 58 more wins.

So... yeah. If Marrone has a bad season and is let go, and Petrino is in play, he is interesting.

I will say this - I am amazed how often we hear of coaches that are very successful in their professional life that manage their personal lives so poorly.

I'll throw in my fiancee if it helps seal the deal. No motorcycle rides though.

I believe I was first. My post was yesterday.

I don't really want the person, I want the offensive mind. He's one of the best. But he's also creepy looking, and creepy looking guys tend to pay younger girls to hang out with them and make them feel less creepy looking.

Wish I had more money. Sigh.

two ways to go with coaches. you can hire big stupid meatheads whose pituitary glands pretty much dictated the path they'd go down. or you can hire smaller coaches with higher IQs with other options in life that chose this weird profession for some reason. the big animals might not be smart enough but any smart guy would have to be nuts to chose this nomadic path so driven by luck.

my hope for marrone is that he's a big scary guy who can instill toughness but has learned enough from little smart crazy guys like Payton along the way to avoid the usual meathead pitfalls. i still have a little hope and this year isn't going to change it

im not sure bobby would be a shining example of our life skills program.

I don't know -- it takes some skills to land that blonde. I mean, it may be immoral but there's something to be said for it.

Or for HC.

Who will it be?

So, wait, we all know this will never happen for a variety of reasons. But are you suggesting it would be insane to think, "hmmm, maybe we could get a coaching star who's had a fall from grace if things don't look so pretty at the end of this year?" I mean, that's crazy?

Funny how football coaches and politicians are cut from the same genetic cloth.

;)

I'm sure that motorcycle accident knocked some sense into Petrino and he now knows that he must grow up and shape up. If not the accident, then certainly the firing forced some perspective into him, I'm sure.

I would be 100% behind SU if they were to be the program that gives Petrino his final chance. Then again, I'm a high risk / high reward type of guy. Others would rather play it safe in life.

But hopefully Marrone succeeds in getting the team to a bowl game in 2012 and SU isn't faced with another agonizing hiring decision this December/January. That would be the best-case scenario, I think we can all agree.

Petrino running the offense. Locksley with the QBs. Sign me up!

LOL. So true.

How about "Hey, maybe Washington State fires Mike Leach to get Petrino and we finally get Leach???!!!"

Hell, maybe Saban frees up this year.

new york has a helmut law,who would recognize him...hell yea,we can't let the basketball have all the scandals, can we????

Brilliant.
He's got a point. Honestly, the thought never crossed my mind until I saw your thread.

Now, I know from reading your previous posts this isn't something you would go for, but: you started it. Therefore you, in fact, were the first (to my knowledge as I have been away a bit), so don't get ticked when your post doesn't go as planned. ;)
