Wake Forest suspends RB Gibson

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Wake Forest running back Dominique Gibson has been suspended from the team for violating undisclosed team rules.
Team spokesman Steve Shutt confirmed Gibson's status Thursday, one day before the Demon Deacons begin their first preseason camp under new coach Dave Clawson.
Gibson is the team's leading returning rusher, having gained 138 yards on 53 carries with a touchdown last season. He also caught eight passes for 87 yards with another TD.
He and senior Orville Reynolds were considered the Demon Deacons' top two running backs during spring practice.

Wow, tough break for the Deacons. Doesn't say whether this is a suspension for the full year, a few games or what.

That he was the "go to" guy this year and only had one previous start (against us last year) says a lot about their lack of depth at that position.

Both Gibson and Center Cody Preble have been dismissed this week from Wake. Preble was caught stealing.

Backup QB Kevin Sousa is indefinitely suspended after being busted for DWI while making a Subway sandwich run.
