"Walt Sweeney was a nine time NFL Pro Bowl guard, All American offensive and defensive end at Syracuse University, and a member of the Syracuse University All Century Team. Drafted in the first round of the 1963 AFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, Walt was the second player picked overall.
Walt Sweeney finished the last two years of his NFL career in 1975, with the Washington Redskins. He is a member of the San Diego Chargers Hall of Fame and is definitely one of the greatest offensive linemen ever to have played professional football. He is a member of the AFL's All Time Team. Walt passed away on February 2, 2013 of pancreatic cancer. Walt was 71 years old."
