From OE's daily links (thanks Dan!), Tom Lemming's scouting report on Morgan: "He has been a combine standout for the past two years. Wayne shows the college scouts what they need to see in a cover corner. He's one of the fastest players in the state of New York, showing quick feet and a compact and efficient backpedal. He also reads quarterbacks well, closes quickly on the ball, and shows good recovery speed. He has the kind of speed that will allow him to run with any of the nation's top WR prospects." I guess I was primarily under the impression that Morgan was a S. What this D desperately needs is a true cover corner. Although Morgan played S in HS, I now tend to think that was due more to the fact that he played QB on offense. At the HS level, playing S, especially in a cover 1, is a little less physically demanding than playing CB. Physically, he projects more as a CB: 5'11" 191, with a 35-inch vertical , 75-inch wingspan and 10.8 100-meter (per his Bio). It will be interesting to see how Morgan performs in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on January 3 in Phoenix (TV: CBS). He is listed as a CB for the West. Note: Morgan is waiting until signing day to announce. If he performs well in this bowl at CB, I wonder how many other programs will try to jump in late...
