I didn't realize that Nebraska played their way back to #1 at the end of the 1984 season, and lost again at home to #6 Oklahoma in the season finale. BYU went on to win it all winning the Holiday Bowl in a strange end to the season.

I was actually only 2 at that point -- it was a box of old SU-related stuff from my grandparents. And yes that guy is a legend.
