Why I decided to listen to Tim Brando and Tony Barnhardt on XM I don't know, but it was 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Anyway, they were talking about the Heisman vote. Barnhardt said something to the effect of "It's a shame Williams missed part of the Syracuse game, he would have had a HUGE day". Brando the yes man said "mmm hmm, yep" or something. Ummm, I know Williams put up a lot of big numbers in the 2nd halves of games, but a HUGE game when he had 29 yards on 9 carries???! Against the only FBS team who didn't allow a 100 yard rusher?? Barnhardt figured he was playing against crappy Cuse, he definitely would have had a HUGE game. He probably still thinks Greg Robinson is our coach.

90% of sports talk guys just see the highlights and don't care to look beyond it. I have trouble listening to national sports talk because of it. That said the local stuff eventually becomes a little too homer talk for me.

Boomer & Carton are going to be aired on the CBS Sportsnetwork channel this jan, i hope they dont start doing more 'national' stuff because theyre on 'national tv' now.

a big national story is 1 thing, like when papi gets caught with more steroids, but other than that, i only want to listen and talk about NY sports.

give me SNY Sportsnite over espns sportscenter any time.

I will say that my Dad is a big BC fan and was at the game, and he figured Williams was hurt going into the game, because they were rushing Williams to the outside wayyyy more than they had the rest of the season (presumably to avoid contact) and they were using much more play action. But yes, that is an ignorant comment.

I mean, I know the New York professional sports scene is pretty depressing right now, but come on.

driving to buffalo and back today and listening to numerous talk shows, every guest and person who had a vote said they didn't vote for Winston. That also included Bud Poliquin.

Meh, effectively that just tells me Winston's off field issues have created the Bradley Effect.

I basiy stop listening to Bill King on my morning drive.

Typical Hour: 20 mins of pro SEC/B1G Monologue, 20 mins of taking calls from morons living in a trailer park down South and 20 mins shilling products

Bill King is pretty much unlistenable.

I think it's 40 minutes shilling products.

I agree with all if this ^, but I still listen. He is very knowledgable and I became a fan. I do think he speak to the demographics of his listeners and unfortunately it is mostly SEC and B1G. He says he has been to the Dome once when Cuse played Vandy and said it was a neat place to watch a game. It stinks because even when people call from the NE they talk about non-NE schools. Anyways I find him better than M&M and I did come in second in his photo contest last year. It was a picture of about 20 of is tailgating in the lot across from the Dome. We are in back of a pickup with my Otto blown up with the Dome in the background at night. It was a real cool picture. I think we came in second to someone from Alabama. I really wish he would do more with hoops. I actually tweeted him today and told him he should get Mike Waters on like he used to and Waters tweeted us both saying he would love to so maybe we will get so Cuse Hoop talk in the near future.

It's awful. Navigate up two channels to the Steve Czaban Show. No thank you necessary.

Channel 93 on Sirius? What time is he on?

Yep, channel 93. 6am to 9am. Then I believe they replay the first hour from 9 to 10.

Warning, he's a local DC guy, but doing an all sports national show. And talks more about NFL than college football. But his sense of humor, and his producer's, are worth it (in my opinion).

TexanMark, totally agree while I still listen to it because I'm all about CFB it is no where near the show it used to be when he got some damn jazzed up about each week of CFB. That damn pill they talk about 24/7 and the tix biz takes over and on my 25 min commute hear 3 mins of CFB talk which might be the ohio st 24/7 guy.

Dopes one and all. Its a performance award. Nothing more or less.

It would be great if they relocated Carton to a new location away from Boomer...like Siberia. Can't stand him.

Awarded for
The outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work

Those who didn't vote for Winston are basing it on the word 'integrity' - right or wrong they are entitled to their interpretation

That describes to a T just about every show on Sirius/XM channel 91. Paul Finebaum's show is unlistenable most days because it's all Bama all the time.

Having not read two minutes worth of coverage of the Winston saga, I say turnabout (whether the worst is true) is fair play* for an award that didn't go to Jim Brown -- not to mention how poorly some (if not most?) of the recipients have fared in the pros.

Speaking of awards and integrity, anyone notice that Donny McPherson presented McCarron his Maxwell Award?

* Given the cheap righteousness this board has known to display, I think I need to make clear that I'm not dismissing the seriousness of rape.

I love Czaban's show. I download the podcast every day and it gets me through the morning at work. Not a ton of college talk, so if you're looking for that you'll be disappointed. But like Chip says, the interaction between the guys and the general tone of the show is quite entertaining.

I hope I'm not the only one who thinks the Heisman is kinda meaningless now. I mean it's nice and all, but at the ceremony I was reminded that Eric Crouch and Jason White have won, as has Troy Smith. Don't even get me started on Tebow.

all those players were great in college though, which is the point of the award. Tebow was dominant at Florida and deserved it.

Exactly. It has nothing to do with who is best prepared to play on Sunday. Goes hand in hand sometimes, but certainly not a prerequisite. If it was, then the best player in college football in 1987 (Don McPherson) wouldn't have even been invited to NYC.

Tebow shouldve won 2.

2008 he was robbed as the anti-tebowers started to gain force.

Finebaum hasn't been on there for close to a year. He works for ESPN now. I think he is on the second ESPN channel on afternoon drive.
