Was really hoping for better news on Reddish

Of the three injured guys,I think he is the least expendable. Not real confident Anderson and Lynn can hang with their WR's. I honestly think he is our best cover guy.

Time for Mr. Whigham to step up!

Hopefully having Welsh back will mean fresher legs for 4 quarters on the DL, and less time that the DBs have to cover WRs. DL really stepped up their game last week. Opponent wasn't exactly the Redskins Hogs, but still, the front 4 collapsing the pocket on almost every passing play is impressive for SU whenever we can get it.

Did anyone see the injury? Was it a sprained ankle?

I don't think it was an ankle by the way he was walking - more like a groin/hamstring pull. These young kids recover quickly and the 2 weeks being off will help but I think that's why they are saying 50-50 - just depends how fast he heals. Everyone is different.

True i'd be out 8 months with a tweaked groin these days

Really? Given our limitations at DE, you think that DB is where we have the least expendable depth?

Look at the defensive stats in the paper today. Even with playing two patsies the pass defense is something like #65. And the reason is poor DB play. Reddish is at least serviceable. Think back to Northwestern.

There is a reason teams throw right at Anderson. That's all I gotta say. In the Tulane game I think they through it 4 or 5 times in a row to the man he was covering.

No question--the secondary has been the weak link of the defense.

But that doesn't have anything to do with the point I was making--we have better depth at DB than we do at DE.
