It’s not even close.
College football in 2020 offenses are moving the ball with ease.

Our offense literally can’t sustain an average 60 yard drive.
If we don’t get a chunk we are in big trouble.

I don’t care our talent isn’t elite or inexperienced. We should be able to have a functional offense.
We don’t.

This is just unacceptable in year 5.
I can’t say this enough what the hell do our coaches do in the football facility. Our players don’t look like they are getting coaching.

I just don't understand where it went wrong. Didn't Babers have a couple of very successful years as a head coach before coming to Syracuse? Weren't the offenses an overwhelming part of that?

I mean 3 touchdowns were still put on the board today, with another that was dropped by Taj. So potential 4. I think the offense is correctable. The defense on the other hand ... wow

Dukes offense is pretty bad. But they looked like Clemson against us.

nothing wrong with the offense today by design.. guys were open all over.. but we have no real push from the oline and that leads to teams leaning on the oline all game , then add in a QB that has issues throwing and you get what you get. Taj doesnt drop the ball and rex is close to 20/40 for 300 and 4 TDs and we had a rb run for 110..

Liberty did very little but they were able to make huge plays running a simple scheme because they have an oline that can block the simple stuff against a team like ours with no middle presence right now

Tucker was the only bright spot.
He legit went for over 100 yards.
We should have run the ball more.
Our passing game went 19 for 40 211 yards. That is terrible against a program like Liberty.
Our offense was atrocious today.
68 plays for 308 yards = 4.5 yards per
Play.

That is pathetic against a P5 team against Liberty that is even worse.

308 yards for the whole game. That isn’t winning games.

I'm watching Marshall v. Louisiana Tech right now. I would take either QB, OL, defense or coach.

I have only had one drink.

‘until they are here and things change. Dino was greatest thing since sliced bread when hired here

All of this is so true... but the scary part is this "they have an oline that can block the simple stuff against a team like ours with no middle presence right now" The D line is the only area where we are decently healthy... they are not beating blocks or there man.. its really that simple. Now when a team gets to the 2nd level... we got freshman LB's with little size trying to get off OL blocks from 300LB O Lineman.. We have a personnel/Fit issue coupled with players that are not physically ready..not to mention experience wise.. Jones is a great example.. a good ball hawk cover guy but gets eaten up on most running plays because he is not that type of player or at least not ready to be that type of player... NOW add in the fact that there was no time to install the scheme on the field and well.. its a recipe for disaster.. Dont get me started on the O.. I will be here all night

Our entire team looks like a high school team compared to the true power 5 teams. From size to speed to skill to play calling and everything in between.

Yeah but covid.

nope.. it wasnt pretty, but separate results from design.. the holes were there to run and we had no passing game.. still the plays were right there for 4-5 TD passes with better catching or throwing

I wonder if Dino got sick of fans complaining about JB’s white knuckle offense and decided he needed to show fans just how much worse it could be. All that’s left is for him to declare that “we didn’t make enough touchdowns” when someone asks him what went wrong.

Guess who's #1 in number of punts among P5 teams? Us

Guess who's #1 in turnover margin in the nation? Us

The defense may not be great all the time, but my god they have set our offense too many times for us to be this bad

Really think this system is a big problem. Looking for deep shots every play will be a quick drive one way or the other. The amount of 3rd and longs we see is mind boggling.

The system with Dungey was great. During our 10-3 season we were only in like the 60s for YPP. But we were super consistent at getting 5 yards with either a slant or Dungey scrambling. So our average wasn't very high but the consistency was.

Dungey designed runs or scrambles isn't what Dino wants to run though. They aren't part of his system. If the only way we can sustain drives if with a QB like Dungey and your HC doesn't want a QB like Dungey, then you are in trouble.

This is what I was saying years ago when people thought 21 ppg from Shafer's team was just fine.

Crazy we're still lapped.

Need an OL who can push and protect. You get that and half the problems are solved because of the trickle down effect.

Currently, the play-calling is predictable and easy to defend. The lack of imagination on offense astounds me. Coach Babers history demonstrated offensive football. Yet we aren’t seeing any of the innovations he was hired for. When do we begin to see decent play calling; the type that keeps the other teams D off balance and plays to our player strengths.
when???
