The wide O Line spacing that gave Miami fits did not bother us. Largely due to Spruill who played a great game. Hunt completed 18 of 30 for 144 yards =4.8 ypc and 60% completion pct. However there were two blown PI calls on intermediate passes and one dropped TD pass. Otherwise he might have been 19 of 28 for a 68% completion rate. I will take that every game. Receivers seemed to be getting open this week. Hunt overthrew at least twice. Broyld beat his guy deep a couple of times. He was also open on the right flat when Hunt took off and ran on third and long. I am not sure Hunt could see him though. The pass that Moore couldn't pull in from the 10 yard line looked like Hunt's second read. Nice to see that he took the time and didn't get over excited in the red zone. I have no problem with not kicking it but the fake FG had no chance. They saw it coming a mile away. It might have been better just to pound it or pass from the 3 yard line. Watching on TV I couldn't see the secondary play and I am wondering how good it was. It seemed as if the pass rush by the front 3 without blitzes was great and when we did not blitz nobody was open. When we blitzed we caused a lot of rushed throws but guys were open of course but not by much. Was the secondary play as good as it appeared? Oh yes, we finally have learned to stop the bubble screens and flat passes. Thank goodness. Bromley was a beast. On his sack he was double teamed and also blew by a third chip block. He is key to a bowl game! Macky made a great block on PTG's 56 yard run. Wake got beat up pretty badly - 2 starting DEs, a safety and, of course, Campanaro all got inured. We wore them down which is a good sign. I have to say that our ST with the exception of FG have improved enormously. When they let Estime return kicks we may even get a return or two. I am more encouraged than when I watched the game live.
