The Dome was so loud, the ref threatened to charge Syracuse a time out if the fans didn't quiet down.

I would LOVE for this scenario to happen again.

I believe back then the ref could penalize the home team for being too loud. Stupid rule.

In 1988 I would have been one of the guys making too much noise.

If the refs threatened us with a penalty, I didn't hear it.

Fast forward 25 years and KC is flying in one of the Guinness Book of World Records officials to measure them hitting 137 decibels during a game. How times have changed.

Give me LOUD. A true 12th man when the Dome gets into it.

It was a point of emphasis for a couple of years, where home teams would get penalized if the crowd was too loud and the qb couldn't call a play.

Extremely stupid rule. I think it got dropped after some QBs faked it.
