Yes I believe we did reruit him but I believe he wanted to play for K and go to Duke because of their high academic standards. I remember being disappointed we lost out on him being semi-local and all.

I didn't know this about Christian Laettner - that he was a Duke deadbeat. (Lots I don't know about lots, I admit though). Maybe it was common knowledge.
