Aaah yes, I forgot it's that time of year again when people talk about not knowing what channel Tru TV is. I'm starting to think the plan to put games there so people will start watching it isn't working.

Here's the kicker for me: Syracuse is almost always stuck on truTV during recent tournaments. I never had the channel. Well, I switched over to DirecTV in December, so I finally have truTV...just in time for Syracuse to not be in the tournament. Ha.

I'll watch it. Just like I'll watch the Masters, the Kentucky Derby, the Indy 500 and Mayweather-Pacquiao, (if it really comes off). It's an event on the sports calendar and I want to see who wins. Hopefully it will close, interesting, fun and memorable. But it will lack the nervous tension, the exhilaration, relief and/or pain of an SU game.

In a way, I like it better that way. You can enjoy the event for itself.

Heart's not into it. I'll root for Lafayette College and SUNY Albany in the first round. Don't think either is going far, however. I am non-committal on Notre Dame to this point despite pressure from my daughter -- a ND doctoral student -- to jump on the bandwagon.
