Scoop and Kris were asked to respond to UNCA players saying that the better team didn't win.

JB said something inaudible, then Scoop just started laughing, and Kris said 'retweet'.

I've always thought that whole better team didn't win mindset was bush league, so it was nice to see these guys treat that comment with all the respect it deserves.

This year we're the Rodney Dangerfield of college basketball.

That's part of our problem.

Nice team. Maybe next year they can be a #15 seed.

I am not sure UNCA was belittling their opponent as much as the blown calls. The media was even asking the same question to try to fuel some controversy. I can't fault some young kids saying something that benign after the heat of battle when the OOB call was made when they would have had a chance to tie the game. One thing is for certain: If Syracuse was indeed the better team today, it wasn't by much.

I will show compassion for a blown call NEVER -- Syracuse has been on the receiving end of dozens of calls over the years in big games and situations

Case in point: last season's gut wrenching loss to The Golden Buzzards in the second (err, third) round. As I recall a bad whistle cost us a chance to win that one.

Like the back court violation in the last minute against Butler

UNCA saying the better team lost????? we were up 8 with 2:30 to go - game was tight but come on man

I think the blown call hurt us more than them. If the refs make the right call, we win the game without the media fueled controversy. It's yet another straw the media is placing on the camel's back hoping to make us look/feel bad.

Had we not played such a awful first half and cut the game down to 20 minutes with a 4 point defecit we would have been ok.
We just played like crap in the first half and had to buckle down.

We had them outscored by 11-12 in the second half.
And the second half is the one that counts.
Nuff said.

Q. Both the coach and the players on
Asheville acknowledged that you guys were the
better team, but they said the better team didn't
win tonight. What do you think?

COACH BOEHEIM: That's why they make
scoreboards. No, I answered it for them.

SCOOP JARDINE: He answered it
(laughter).

KRIS JOSEPH: Retweet (smiling).

COACH BOEHEIM: First of all, all the
noise about the ball going out of bounds, I mean,
Triche got pushed. That's why it went out of
bounds. Maybe they missed the out of bounds,
they missed the foul call. Those things equal out.

If the proper call is made, BT is shooting foul shots. Losers make excuses when they lose. Our coaching staff will never make excuses when we lose. Bad calls and bad breaks happen. You NEVER heard Sherman say Rhode Island didn't deserve the win or wasn't the better team. IT'S BS. Syracuse won the game and it doesn't matter by how much. Whining never comes across well , no matter how big an underdog you are. Most important of all, it wasn't just the kids doing the whining.

Missed the game...but read and watched all the post game crap. Let's be clear...even if Ash was given that out of bounds play...there was 2.7 seconds on the clock and they were down 7. Game over. Go home. The better team today won. Jb is right scoreboard is all that matters. moral victories are for people that record themselves throwing footballs in front of their van!

A-freaking-men, JB

JB during press conferences is absolute gold. It probably provides more entertainment to me than the game itself and about 99% of all shows on TV right now.

I count two major blown calls for them and two for us.

And I will add, I think there was a missed backcourt violation...but the NCAA logo in the middle of the court was so damn big, the ref couldn't tell.
