The game will begin at 7 p.m. at the Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. In addition, Monday night's contest will be broadcast on the Raycom Sports Network and ESPN3. In the Orange's last game, the team suffered a 78-58 loss to No. 8/8 Louisville on Jan. 29 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky. Syracuse led by one point at halftime, but ultimately lost its sixth game of the 2014-15 season. Senior guard Diamond Henderson scored a team-best 20 points, her third game with at least 20 points this year. The Orange will play consecutive games against top-10 opponents for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign on Monday night when it plays No. 9/9 Florida State. The last time Syracuse faced a top-10 team in back-to-back games, the club beat No. 6/6 Ohio State on Dec. 11, 2010 and lost to No. 2/2 Baylor 10 days later. Transfer Shining Senior guard Diamond Henderson has served the 2014-15 Syracuse women's basketball team as a spark off the bench thus far this season. She spearheads an Orange reserves unit that currently outscores the opposition's bench, 540-361. Henderson ranks third on the team in scoring and 29th in the Atlantic Coast Conference at 11.7 points per game. The Kennesaw, Ga. native scored at least 14 points in six straight games from Dec. 19 to Jan. 8. Over that stretch, she has averaged 17.7 points per game. She increased her scoring average by 3.2 points per contest during the run. She scored a team-high 20 points on the road at No. 8/8 Louisville on Jan. 29. It marked the third time this year that she had scored at least 20 points, which leads the club. Henderson has continued to shine when the spotlight is the brightest. Against No. 4/4 Notre Dame on Jan. 4, she tallied a squad-best 19 points in the 11-point loss to the Fighting Irish. For the fourth straight contest, she recorded at least two steals, as well. The senior guard showed what she could do against the nation's elite on Dec. 19 against No. 9/9 Baylor at the Florida Sunshine Classic. She scored a season-best 27 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc against the Lady Bears. It marked the first time that a member of the Orange eclipsed the 25-point plateau since Brianna Butler scored 25 points at Boston College on Feb. 16, 2014. In her second game in an Orange uniform, Henderson exploded for 22 points in 22 minutes of play at Duquesne. She was a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown against the Dukes and was 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Including her first four seasons at Tennessee Tech, Henderson has scored in double-figures on 67 different occasions. Second ChanceOne of the strengths of the 2014-15 Syracuse women's basketball team is its success on the offensive glass. Despite a low shooting percentage, the offense is able to excel as offensive rebounding provides second, and sometimes third, chances. Currently, Syracuse leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in offensive rebounds per game, averaging 17.6 offensive boards per contest. In addition, the team ranks sixth in the nation in that category. Sophomore center Briana Day and junior guard Cornelia Fondren are the Orange's top players on the offensive boards. Day averages 4.3 per game, which ranks second in the conference and 22nd in the country. Not far behind, Fondren brings down 3.0 per contest, which ranks ninth in the league. Series BreakdownFor the second time all-time, Syracuse and Florida State will meet on Monday night in Tallahassee, Fla. Florida State scored the first win in the series last season. Florida State and Wake Forest will the only two teams Syracuse had not played prior to its entry into the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2013-14. Last season, Florida State scored an 83-59 victory against Syracuse on Feb. 13, 2014. La'Shay Taft tallied 18 points off the bench to lead the Orange against the Seminoles. Brianna Butler also scored in double-figures, finishing with 10 points.
