The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel. Syracuse took No. 1/2 South Carolina to the wire in its latest game. The Orange led with two minutes remaining in the contest, but ultimately suffered a 67-63 loss to the top-ranked Gamecocks. Junior guard Brianna Butler led the way for Syracuse, scoring 18 points on four 3-point field goals. Monday's game marks the first of four consecutive home matchups for Syracuse. This week, the Orange hosts Vermont on Monday and then takes on Penn State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Thursday. Rebound Machine Sophomore center Briana Day recorded consecutive double-doubles in the Syracuse women's basketball team's past two games at the 2014 Junkanoo Jam. Day became the first Syracuse player to record back-to-back double-doubles since Shakeya Leary did so against Dartmouth (Nov. 14, 2013) and Cornell (Nov. 18, 2013). She averaged 13.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game during the stretch. For her efforts she was named to the All-Junkanoo Jam Team. Day put together one of the best performances of her young collegiate career at Duquesne on Nov. 19. The Raleigh, N.C. native led the team with 22 points and 19 rebounds. Both totals were career-highs for the second-year center. She became the 10th player in program history to record at least 19 rebounds in a single game. It marked the most rebounds by an Orange player in a contest since Shakeya Leary pulled down 19 boards against Seton Hall on Jan. 8, 2011. Day currently averages 12.2 points and 12.8 rebounds per game for the 2014-15 season. She currently ranks second in the ACC in rebounding and ninth nationally. The sophomore center leads the conference in defensive rebounds, averaging 8.0 per game. Her 8.0 defensive rebounds per contest ranks 10th nationally. Her 19-rebound effort also was the second-most by an ACC player so far this season. Going Streaking Syracuse has won 61 non-conference home games in-a-row, dating back to the 2006-07 season, head coach Quentin Hillsman's first season at the helm of the Orange program. He is 63-5 in his career in such games. Last season, the Orange went 6-0 in out-of-conference play at the Carrier Dome after going 6-0 in 2012-13. In 2010-11, Syracuse was 14-0, 12-0 in 2009-10, 8-0 in 2008-09, and 7-0 in 2007-08. Syracuse's last non-conference home loss was on Dec. 22, 2006 to Canisius, suffering a 56-43 loss. Series Breakdown Monday night marks the eighth meeting between Syracuse and Vermont. The Orange owns a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series.
