GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Five Atlantic Coast Conference women’s basketball teams are ranked in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25, led by No. 3 Notre Dame.
The Fighting Irish, who were picked as the preseason ACC favorite in both the Blue Ribbon Panel Preseason Poll and the ACC Head Coaches Preseason Poll, amassed 798 points, behind only Connecticut and South Carolina – who are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
Duke is ranked No. 7 in the AP poll, followed by Louisville at No. 12, North Carolina at No. 13 and Syracuse at No. 24 (tied with Rutgers). ACC teams also receiving votes in the poll were Florida State and NC State. The five ACC teams in the Top 25 are tied for the lead with the Big Ten among all conferences.
The 2014-15 regular season tips off Nov. 14-16, with all 15 teams in action.
