SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 23/22 Syracuse University women's basketball team stays on the road for its second straight contest when it takes on Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. Syracuse and Jacksonville are slated to meet at 3 p.m. at Swisher Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Fla.

Syracuse is away from the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome for four consecutive games. In its last contest, the Orange defeated Duquesne, 90-84, in Pittsburgh, Pa. Following its weekend trip to Jacksonville, the squad will head to the Bahamas for the Junkanoo Jam. Syracuse will take on East Carolina and South Carolina or Wisconsin.

For the sixth straight year, the Syracuse women's basketball team has opened its season with two consecutive victories. After opening the 2014-15 season with a 59-42 win against Fordham, Syracuse defeated Duquesne, 90-84, in its first road contest.

Career Day for Day
Sophomore center Briana Day put together one of the best performances of her young collegiate career at Duquesne on Nov. 19. The Raleigh, N.C. native led the team with 22 points and 19 rebounds. Both totals were career-highs for the second-year center.

Day became the 10th player in program history to record at least 19 rebounds in a single game. It marked the most rebounds by an Orange player in a contest since Shakeya Leary pulled down 19 boards against Seton Hall on Jan. 8, 2011.

Day currently averages 13.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game for the 2014-15 season. She currently ranks second in the ACC in rebounding. The sophomore center leads the conference in defensive rebounds, averaging 10.0 per game. Her 19-rebound effort also was the second-most by an ACC player so far this season.

Sparks off the Bench
Senior guard Diamond Henderson and junior forward Taylor Ford both have served the 2014-15 Syracuse women's basketball teams as sparks off the bench thus far this season. Henderson ranks second on the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game, while Ford is second on the club in rebounding at 4.5 boards per contest.

In her second game in an Orange uniform, Henderson exploded for 22 points in 22 minutes of play at Duquesne. The Kennesaw, Ga. native was a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown against the Dukes and was 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Including her first three seasons at Tennessee Tech, Henderson has now scored in double-figures on 57 different occasions.

In the season-opener, Ford came off the bench and finished with 11 points and six rebounds against Fordham. The Bronx, N.Y. native knocked down three 3-point field goals, one shy of her career-best. In addition to having the second-best rebounding average on the team, Ford ranks fifth on the team in scoring. She averages 10.0 points per game for the Orange.

Series Breakdown
Saturday marks the first time Syracuse and Jacksonville will meet. The Orange is slated to meet four opponents, possibly five, for the first time during the 2014-15 regular season.
