For Pete's sake, if math serves me right, we ain't out of this yet. If I were on the team (and I've been there), I'm giving it my all this weekend. As a player, I know what's on the line. Plus I know we get a bye week to recover. We need this game more than the Dukies, I say for once (I'm calling on the Legend of 44 comes to our rescue) things go our way and we win.

I had to stay off the Board for awhile but I'll quickly outline a few thoughts:

1. For those that say SU hasn't invested in the football program, I say BS. The facilities have been upgraded over the years and now the IPF. Not only for recruiting reasons, our players now have a full football field to "practice" during the off season. I fully expect to see better WR route running next year and whoever is QB, expect better timing. But even practice for the big uglies, expect better communication on the field. Can you say 7 on 7 over and over again? An IPF should help our offensive production next year!

2. For this ready to dump Shafer & Lester - that would be the dumbest thing ever. Based upon what we know concerning GM, Shafer had no choice but to make the change this season. We haven't and wil not see the true Lester OC & play caller until next year. However, if the head coach is a defensive coach, I like the change to have a QB coach as the OC (plus he was a former QB and HC as well). I say give Lester his chance!

3. Finally, I have no faith in Gross to pick a new HC. He hasn't proven to me he actually knows how to do this. Until we get a new AD, I say we keep Shafer & company for a few more years. Just to be clear, most quality recruits are attracted to a "family" environment - unless of course your Nick Saban & Alabama.

Nuff said - STOP moping - have Faith - and see you on Saturday - Go Cuse!

Wow. Some clarity!

Agreed. Guys over at Nunes keep saying that the season is "essentially" over. By my count, we need three wins.

Beat Duke. Get to the bye. Breathe. Our D is good enough to get us three ugly wins.

I'm not jumping off that 6-6 train just yet. But I do like to think about realistic scenarios, and realistically we're an underdog for those last 3. Regardless of circumstances, 3 win seasons don't happen often around here. In recent history (stretching 30 years), they've basically only been reserved for one guy.

None of our last 3 are FSU, ND or Clemson. But they're not Wake or CMU either. I think all 3 will be interesting games, and I really hope Shafer isn't joining that exclusive 3 win club.
