I know we’re talking about whales vs ordinary but there are also a lot of other fans in the 1k-5k annual category who can make a difference. The ADs office tends to focus more on the whales and mid sized fish given they don’t have a ton of resources. That’s the focus of the legends society but that’s just 5k/year (minimum 25k commitment over five years). They’re trying to get more in the door first. The collectives are trying to go after businesses and other donors too.

If folks have leads, they should share with the ADs office. They’ll do the legwork but sometimes they need leads. The folks there do a great job building relationships and getting the money in the door but they don’t know everyone.

as others noted, people rarely give unless they’re asked. And the ask should always be higher. Fundraising 101. Hopefully some early success this year fuels more people proactively joining in.
