We're ultimately going to have to agree to disagree on this subject and you're right about the second sentence: announced attendance goes up from whatever the season ticket sales figure is. Not sure what you mean by the first, though. Announced attendance is typically account of tickets distributed (if not technically 'sold' - those Fort Drum families at the game may or may not have paid for tickets, but SU provided a certain number and they're in the attendance count, as are the school groups and team allotment and other tickets that are sent out into the community). SU also does some tricky accounting with the family section and the student section; rather than reflect tickets sold or distributed, they count those sections as full for attendance purposes regardless of how many have been sold. For big league games they count every upper deck student overflow seat toward the attendance, even when no students buy them and the entire section in 301 gets to move into the empty student seats to their left. Finally, they're counting unsold seats in 305, 306, 314, 315, 316, 317 (in addition to the family section seats) and sometimes 318 for a number of the league games.
