Think about that? I'm just as pissed off as anyone. Today was infuriating after blowing that 14-0 lead and just not capable of stopping their running game. Dungey was throwing darts into the dirt and repeatedly didn't even see wide open WRs. He was very off, yet still made some incredible plays with his feet, so everyone needs to tone it down a bit. Our offense, led by him, still scored 37 points. He will be fine and no, Devito is not starting against UNC. Argh.

The bye week is perfect timing for this team and the fan base. We all need a break to cool off and regroup. Beat UNC, get to 5-2 and then it sets up a huge game against NC St on 10/27. We win that to get to 6-2 and we could be possibly ranked or close to it. Starting 4-0 and losing a heartbreaker on the road at Clemson started to shift expectations and revise win forecasts. I was guilty of it simply because I knew this team will compete with everyone on the schedule, and is arguably better than most of those teams.

Winning out is unlikely, but it is a possibility. On a positive note, we can still end the season 10-2 or 9-3, hell even 8-4. A bowl game will give us another chance at a final win. All hope is not lost. We're a vastly improved team over last year. Stay calm and orange on.

Bravo!

So.. if we win out, Pitt wins the Coastal then dumps Clemson in ACC title game and then a few Big 12 dominoes fall along with LSU losing tonight.. I mean how close can we get here?

Rocco wrote this the day after the Pitt loss and got ZERO responses. Good perspective and like always, spot on.

Cooler heads prevailed. The calls for Dungey’s imminent demise were overblown even though he had a few poor performances.

Here we are, poised to possibly jump a few more spots in the rankings. Dungey is still starting and had arguably his best career game against NC St to break us into the Top 25.

Need to keep the momentum going and get to 8-2 next Friday against LVille.

Let’s enjoy the ride.
