The Villanova game was a win and thank God it was but it did not create favorable expectations so we reacted to it as if it were a loss. But it wasn't a loss. It was a win that failed to create favorable expectations. The fact that we played Notre Dame, Florida State and Clemson and lost by an average of 15 points after losing game s last year by 14-49, 0-56 and 3-59, (i'm substituting Georgia Tech for Notre Dame). That's an improvement and suggests the program is getting better. It doesn't turn those games into wins but make us thing that some real wins against teams like that are possible in the future.

But the anemic offense we showed yesterday, especially in the second half is not encouraging.  We want to get to a bowl game and must now win 3 of 4 to get there and two of those teams, Boston College and Pittsburgh, also have nationally ranked defenses. I don't have that good feeling a so-called moral victory gives me.
