True we were beaten pretty badly later in the game against Washington and both UConn and BC beat us up along both lines.  However, we did blow out the teams we were supposed to blow out and won the 3 conference games on the road.  Add the Pinstripe Bowl win and seemed like there was some measurable progress even as the season went along.

This year, we needed miracles to come back and beat Wake, Rhode Island almost took the win (and played even with SU), Tulane was alive until the last play of the game and the officials gave us a huge assist in the squeaker against Toledo.  Rutgers, Louisville and UConn were definite "What" losses.

Lastly, my expectations were higher this year for the offense and lower for the defense, based on the experience coming back.  It is pretty clear to me that the defense is playing about where we expected (young, some "flashes" & therefore will give up points at times) and the offense has taken a step backwards.  We see them show up for maybe half a game, usually once we are in a hole.

If ever a team needed a week off, this is it.
