I feel like a complete ass after watching todays game as it was so obvious that BT is really hurting. His mobility going right to left was hampered and if you watch closely you can actually see him wince a few times. Towards the end he really gutted it out as he was having a hard time standing upright. SU has done a great job hiding this not sure how but glad we did. I hope that with a week of treatment and rest he will be back to full strength. Kid played great D and i truly believe his shot is off because of his back. Sorry BT!

what a warrior this kid is .. he still made plays and hit some big ones

Painful to watch. Take a long soak BT. You deserve it!

Need him next Saturday. Hope the week in between gives him a chance to heal, get some ice bathes, muscle stimulation and maybe a nice percoset prescription.

Honestly I don't notice it at all. He looks close to 100% to me. What he is struggling with (shooting) isn't something that correlates to back issues. His mobility seems good. I've had fairly significant back issues for a long time and I tend to think I'd be able to tell more watching him if he had a really bad issue, but maybe I'm wrong. I've had times where I thought wow there is no way I can play hoops like this, but then after stretching it felt pretty decent out on the court (granted not d1 basketball). Maybe I'd wince now and then but pretty much it was ok. I've also had herniated disks where at least for me there is no way I could get on a basketball court. BT definitely doesn't have that - in my very amateur opinion...

I don't think its chronic by any means, but it is clear that he is slightly impaired. There have been several shots on TV where he's grabbed his back during walks to the bench during timeouts, etc.

Not suggesting that it is debilitating, but he is clearly dealing with back issues [probably some sort of strain that just won't "heal" until after the season, when he can shut it down for a week or two].

Hope he can power through for two more games.

Man it would be nice if he could drill a few 3's...give me 5-11 from the field from him, 2-5 from 3, 4-5 from the line, 16 pts, and not many to's, and the usual good d, and I will take our chances with anyone including lville.

Brandon has performed an important role lately as the secondary ball handler. I'm with you--would like to see him start to go for 16 ppg / hit two threes per game, etc.

We are so much more dangerous when Brandon is scoring.

I agree with you the secondary ball handler thing is huge - it's one of his greatest assets he's a 2 that handles like a point. Unfortunately he also scores like a point but what the hell it seems to be working...

Didn't Melo's back hurt him in the 2003 title run. I still have a visual of the dogpile on melo when we beat KU and him yelling Off! Off!

Perhaps its a good sign for us.

Yes, Melo's back was really hurting in the second half of the tourney final and so was Gerry's hand...we were fortunate to hold on for the win.

I really hope he can get some recovery time this week. Don't forget how well he played when we best the ville. 7 for 7 in the first half of that game.

Watching Brandon slither to the hoop is a thing of beauty. To think of all the twisting and bending that is entailed doing so is to realize how this kid bleeds Orange. Those who have been so critical of Brandon over the years obviously don't know how difficult it can be out on the court playing in a league who's physicality borders on a brawl each game. Brandon has played through injuries and without Brandon Triche we wouldn't have won... well, you know the rest!

kid really has been hurting week off will be great

He definitely was hurting. I have a feeling he will be in game shape for the Saturday game after a week of treatments and rest. Anything after that is a concern depending on how physical the game against Michigan is.

We weren't fortunate to hold on -- Kansas was fortunate those injuries allowed them to make a game of it and not be thoroughly dominated.

I thought it was faily obvious he was hurting in both Regional games. I noticed at times during the IU game but it was much more pronounced in the MU game.

It was the kidney punches Buzz was having his guards hit BT with when he was on the court distracting the refs. They never saw it. ;)

Yeah definitely. Watch him jog off the court during timeouts. Well, jog isn't really the right word.

It's almost an old man hobble at some points.
