The McC injury is devastating on multiple fronts.

Forward - Instead of a 3 man rotation of McC, G, and Roberson. It's G, Roberson and BJ. I like BJ for the future, but we lose a lot of size with BJ. McC is future NBA player where the light could have went on ant any minute. Think how small will be when Roberson is in foul trouble and G and BJ are the 2 forwards.

Center - This IMO is the biggest blow. Rak lives in foul trouble so now instead of sliding McC over, we have to go Chino. We'll be playing 4 on 5 on offense when Chino is in.

Guard - If Cooney gets in foul trouble or needs a blow, we used to be able to slide G over to 2 and bring Roberson in and not lose much. We can still do that, but we'll get smaller at forward when do it.

I fully expect it to be an ACL tear and feel bad for McC. He was going to get it going I'm sure. Even if it's something else and he only misses a few games, it comes at a bad time. We have to win these upcoming games against the bottom feeders and that just got a lot harder. If he missed a few games during the gauntlet at the end of the season, no big deal as we we'll probably lose most of those anyway

All of a sudden -- other than Rak this front line is undersized. Hoping for the best.

I think I'll wait to see what the actual prognosis is from the professionals.

Extremely undersized when Roberson goes out. G and BJ are both thin for front line players. So was McC but he was a few inches taller.

Here comes the revisionism on McCullough.

A week ago he was a useless bust, now he's a future NBAer who's light could have gone on at any moment.
You disagree that he is future NBA player? And he was balling early in the season so, yes, the could have gone on at any minute

Won't be as bad as you think. First, we weren't winning anything big this year. Second, if it is as bad as you fear, Roberson will play without looking at the bench every time there is a play stopage. I think he also does a lot for us (or could). We'll see. But one thing is for sure, we can't have anything else like this happen to us.

Yeah, he sure kicked some ass against ... Chainsaw State ... and some recovering hockey players

Definitely hurts from a depth stand point but we looked pretty good without him. If this team can stay consistent we can still be a tournament team, no question.

I agree that when the starters are in it's not much different than right now. Roberson is will be fine, but it's when we have the certain to come foul trouble at forward or center where it will really hurt. Especially center.

This, especially. Though I was a little surprised he didn't have a better offensive game last night. But he's going to light it up pretty soon.

It's never good to have an injury because it always hurts your depth, but we took an injury at a that will have the least affect on our overall outlook as a team. If there was anyone we can "afford to lose" it would of been one of Roberson or McCullough. I know it hurts our depth and the backup center position, but we still can be successful.

Roberson won't be looking over his shoulder now. He gets to play freely and will have multiple opportunities to be successful if McCullough is out long term like people suspect.

Just out of curiosity, has BJ played the guard spot at any time in the zone this year? Just curious if he could play there (quick enough?, knows the rotations?, etc) so that we can keep G on the front line and then have BJ play the small forward position on O.

Can you imagine that length on top of the zone? You hit the nail on the head as far as the rotations/covers, but it's an interesting thought.

Really we were playing with a 3 man rotation at the 4 and 5 with Chris primary at 4 and top backup at 5. Now we're down to Rak starting at 5 and likely going 40 unless he gets in foul trouble and Chino has to step in. Issues there with his propensity to foul and general readiness to contribute have been rehashed ad nauseum. But I don't see TR as being near a 40 minute player at 4 even discounting any foul issues. With today's game filled with media timeouts I honestly think the fatigue factor is over emphasized in most cases but Tyler's motor is amped so high, particularly the way he attacks the glass at both ends, and since his minutes have been limited up until now, he is going to need a 3-4 minute blow each half IMO. BJ and silent G are 2/3 wings. Do we go terribly undersized at 3/4 or does Rak slide out to the wing a bit? Neither are good options.

In the back court you still have a fairly solid 3-man rotation with Cooney, Joseph, and Patterson. The front court is the challenge.

Look, he was only a "bust" from the perspective of sure fire lottery one and done expectations. Realistic assessment is that he was capable of being a solid role player at 2 positions with enormous upside.
