We took just over a third of ours from 3.

We don't have to jack up a bunch of 3s to win

It really comes down to Marek finding his offense and Buddy getting into the lane. I think both are sustainable. Elijah also utilized his size.

We tailored the O to the opponent. Backed them down all game and overpowered them, which feels crazy to say.

All about matchups and finding different ways to win, make the most of opponent’s weaknesses, accentuate matchup wins. It will work against some, help us be competitive against others if executed properly, and will fail sometimes regardless what we might try because of too many bad matchups.

We took advantage of their small guards and lack of interior presence with our length. Buddy going crazy for 5 minutes was bacially our offense outside of that.

Going forward, we can’t make only 6 or shoot 25% from 3 and expect to win many (any?) games.

Buddy is starting to be able to score going to the hoop, and to be able to hit contested off the dribble jumpers too. This raises his ceiling as a player considerably if it’s something that he can continue to improve on and do effectively on a consistent basis.

Missing a really quick guard who can defend and get to the rack and pass/finish and get “easy” buckets on the break. Basically what Carey was in theory...but not yet in reality(he may still get there at some point).

But otherwise, things are coming together nicely. Guys are developing and getting better...namely Marek, Quincy, Buddy, and Girard. And Washington is starting to show something as a steady backup.

Who thought a month ago we could win a game where we lost the 3pt shooting battle by 9? To be a good team we have to be able to win when we don't shoot well.

Never seen a team so dependent on 3 pt shots that has only 3 shooters. They have made all but 2 of the 3 pt shots for the team.

Since the defensive change he's a must have out there.

I think there are a few other teams like NC State and Pitt that don’t have much of a frontline presence.

We don't have the bigs to run the offense through, but Buddy (5-8) and Hughes (5-11) were big from 2pt land and teams will continue to force them off the line.

I do think Marek will be able to score 12ft in on most teams.

We can't be one dimensional on offense and win.
