I’m going to bet the answer is either that there’s nothing he could have said that would have satisfied you, or whatever you propose is utterly assinine and unrealistic.  Which is relevant, because it’s how we’ve gotten to the position we’re in - you have no respect for Penn State, or their fans, or BOB - and they have no respect for you and people like you because your expectations and demands are completely detached from reality.

That’s a problem - not just with this situation, but all over the country right now. A society where empathy and respect has broken down to the degree we see here isn’t a society that is going to remain functional much longer.  If your expectations of what BOB should have done are unrealistic, and you don’t respect him because he didn’t meet those unrealistic expectations - you are actively working to undermine our society.  You are part of the problem, and are unlikely to be able to contribute to any viable solution .
