We lost three league games and

the pain of the Stanford (3 wins) and BC loss will last a while. This win does help ease it some. I still can't figure out what happened that Stanford game? I think that's when Meeks wasn't getting as much run behind Hatcher?

BC totally dominated us and should have been like that blowout game in the Dome 4 or so years ago. McCord and WRs made some plays to keep it close.

I was there we were never winning that one.

Program for gassed up after the GT win, had two weeks to think they were special and didn't expect Stanford to actually try. They didn't come prepared to play.

We win that game we're waiting for the CFB playoff selections. Would have got us to 6-0 and around 11th - 13th before the Pitt loss. Even with a BC loss and what happened today we have 3 top 25 wins, 1 top 10 win, and wins vs 8 bowl eligible teams. 10 win UNLV, 9 win Ohio, 8 win UConn, GT, VT, Cal all bowl eligible. We still wouldn't make the ACC championship game, but how does that resume not match some of these 3 loss SEC teams and this win would have probably got us in the top 10 going into conference championship week...all hypothetically

The BC loss was at least understandable as it was a bad matchup for us away. BC manhandled us up front.

The head scratcher is that Stanford also dominated us on both lines in our own building in front of a very loud crowd.

I think we took them lightly.

If the on sides kick held up, we win that game. They weren't going to stop McCord.
That’s great and all, but they ran through our D like we didn’t even have players on the field.

And their sack of McCord changed the game.

After losses / adversity, Fran certainly showed that he could rally the team, regroup, and bounce back.

After BC, if you had told me that we'd right the ship and win on the road against Cal, or against the #6 ranked team, I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

And on the other hand, if we somehow win those games -- and I get that college sports isn't all the transitive property -- but if we win those two winnable games, we are in the 'iiiiing playoffs right now.

But we aren't that good. Ohio ran all over us UNLV was close and even the wins we looked great ended up 1 possession games UConn GT Cal etc.

Line opened up nothing for LQA and your typical 1st and 10 run gained 1-2 yards. D gave up 5 yards average on the usual run up the middle. Secondary probably a little worse than recent years. No Marlow return and we have lost out.

I think this is a case of a 7-5 team went 9-3 because of McCord and the Staff.

Without McCord we might have had 2 wins

I don't, and I don't agree with the Syracus-ian need for self-flagellation. Our offense is tremendous. We have the best QB in the nation. Just like Wake Forest a couple of seasons ago, you can win lots of games and beat GOOD teams by being able to move the sticks and score points.

That Stanford game was costly -- don't pretend otherwise.

I think we're a 9-3 team and that's fair. I'm glad we beat the best teams Miami and GT and it wasn't a fraud weak ACC 9-3.

Today was the biggie and we won despite a 21-0 hole.
I had them pegged as a 9 or 10 win team before the season based on the schedule. Too much talent on offense and thought defense would be good enough. We didn’t there the way i thought, but still 9 wins is where this team should be. Anything less would have been an underachievement.

not good? do you watch CFB? How many teams are perfect? This team is very very good.

Fair point but look at basketball new staff I think the 50-50 games naturally go against you.

Stanford BC Pitt aren't that bad either.

McCord is still criminally underrated outside of our fan base.

i mean Stanford finished 3-9 and closed out the season losing to San Jose St. Pitt was rolling at the time. BC took advantage of our defense.

Pitt completely falling apart after they looked like a legit CFP team might hurt me more for some reason. Like we've been the 4 win team that put it together for a game, it happens. Narduzzi had a Dino season and we played them one week too early.

That or 4th and 9...
