The Patriots approach to free agency & players like Steve Gregory
In the main event, former Houston Texans linebacker Morlon Greenwood will make his pro debut as a heavyweight. Greenwood, 33, played for the Texans from 2005-2008 and also for the Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders.
HC
Steve Gregory -- The former Chargers safety signed a three-year pact with base salaries of $750,000 (2012), $1.25 million (2013) and $2.25 million (2014). The deal includes a $2.5 million signing bonus and workout bonuses of $100,000 each year, in addition to other incentives. The pact reflects how Gregory should factor into sub packages on defense (65 percent of the snaps in 2011) and possibly could start.
