Maverik Division I Media Poll: Syracuse is 2017's Longest-Tenured No. 1
Syracuse has become the longest-tenured No. 1 team of 2017’s Maverik Media Poll, holding on to the top spot for third-straight week. It wasn’t easy, as the Orange had to fight off an upset-minded Binghamton team Saturday in the Carrier Dome.
Denver and Duke move into the No. 2 and 3 spots.
Ohio State leaps this week after beating Maryland in overtime, moving up from the No. 7 ranking.
The 5-7 spots are essentially toss-ups, with barely anything separating Maryland, Notre Dame and Albany. The Terps lost to Ohio State in OT, while Notre Dame beat North Carolina and Albany topped Yale by a goal.
Johns Hopkins, Penn State and Hofstra make up the rest of the Top 10.
